CEO and President
John Lancaster, MSFS, CLU, ChFC, FLMI, has more than 30 years of life insurance industry experience, including 20 years with the Life Insurance Company of the Southwest (LSW). He joined in GILICO in 1998 and led the team that recruited more marketing organizations and producers and developed new products, including AnnuiCare®. These successes helped increase GILICO’s assets by 400%.
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
In June 1999, Forrest Mills, CPA, FLMI, was hired as GILICO’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. His successful tenure in the financial services area includes seven years as a Certified Public Accountant and 25 years in the life insurance industry. Forrest served as Treasurer and Controller for the State National Companies for five years before it was sold to Liberty Life Insurance Company. At Liberty, Forrest was the Director of Audit Services.
Flynn Foster is Vice President of GILICO and President/CEO of Guaranty Corporation and Guaranty Media Ventures, LLC. Flynn joined Guaranty in 2010 and is a member of the Board of Directors of Guaranty Corporation.
Senior Vice President, Business Development and Compliance
Deborah Tatro joined GILICO in 2017. She brings more than 30 years of experience in life, health, disability, and annuity underwriting, operations, and field management. She previously served as EVP & COO and Member of the Board of Directors for GCU in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her duties there included front office (sales and product development), back office (contact center, new business entry, underwriting, claims, field operations), and technology (application development, systems security, and infrastructure). Previously, Deborah handled new product development, sales support, and compliance for the Manhattan Insurance Group in Houston, Texas.
Vice President, Sales and New Business
Joy Lee joined Guaranty in 1995. She previously served as Licensing Coordinator and then AVP of Sales. Joy supervises the Sales Call Center and the New Business Department. She works with David Royer, GILICO’s National Sales Director, to develop and distribute marketing materials, including the company’s bi-monthly newsletters. She also serves on several GILICO committees. Joy holds the ALMI, AIAA, and ACS designations from the Life Office Management Association (LOMA).
Vice President, Operations
Terry Ezell joined GILICO in 1995. She has led business development, policyholder services, and project management, and has worked in various roles, including payroll (CPP) and finance. She holds FLMI and ACS designations from the Life Office Management Association (LOMA). She previously worked as a finance and accounting consultant.
David F. Royer
National Sales Director
More than 40 years ago, David F. Royer entered the financial services industry after completing his military obligation. His impressive background includes management positions with Metropolitan Life, Illinois Mutual, and Columbia Universal Life. In 2002, David joined the GILICO team as Regional Sales Director and currently serves as the company’s National Sales Director. Dave is focused on training GILICO marketing advisors who distribute the company’s consumer-focused products and services.
Assistant Vice President and Corporate Technology Officer
Ann Mengelson-Clark joined GILICO in 1998. Her broad technical and business background includes scientific research, system development and integration, project management, networking, and telecommunications. Ann has more than 18 years of experience in insurance systems and technology and holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science from Louisiana State University.
